Spring Fundraising Campaign

Throughout the month of March, we are hosting the Boston Local Food Program’s first Spring Fundraising Campaign in hopes of raising $5,000 to launch a Technical Assistance Pilot Program.

We are almost at the end of our fundraiser, but it isn’t too late to get in on the action! Every donation of $20 or more gets you a chance to win in the Local Love Raffle, and you can still get a first copy of our Women in Food Cookbook with a donation of $75 or more!

Weekly Themes

🌱 Week 1 (03/03-03/09): Give It Up Challenge – Kick off the donation campaign by making a simple but powerful shift—swap your daily chain store coffee and donate those funds to support us. Every contribution helps strengthen our local food system and sustain the businesses that make our community thrive.

📖 Week 2 (03/10-03/16): Women in Food Cookbook – For Women's History Month we want to uplift the women in food, the women behind the food, and the "women's work" of nourishing our community. We’ve put together a delightful cookbook featuring 32 stories and recipes from New England farmers and food makers, along with the dishes that brought their communities together around the table.

This stunning full-color cookbook is filled with the inspiration, joy and nourishing that happens every day around our tables. The stories shared in its pages span the roles of traditional mother and grandmother, colleagues and friends, self, and more in the moments of nurturing, care, mentoring, inspiration, laughter and tears. This cookbook is as much a testament to those that uplift us and help us face another day, or inspire us to find new versions of ourselves, as it is a collection of dishes to savor, share and enjoy. It is the culmination of generosity, collaboration, and creativity.

Our Women in Food is available with a $75 to our Spring Fundraising Campaign, follow the donation link.

Your donation directly supports farms, fisherfolk, and food producers

Every day, we’re bombarded with headlines about environmental destruction, economic instability, and threats to our communities. But here at the Boston Local Food Program, we’re committed to a different narrative—one that connects, elevates, and celebrates the people who nourish us. For the past 15 years, we’ve supported local farms, fisheries, and food makers, recognizing them as the stewards of our land, water, and economy. We believe in this work and are taking a leap of faith to make this corner of the world a little better for everyone. Unlike industrial agriculture, our local farmers and fishermen actively restore and protect our natural resources, reinforcing our land for a healthier future. Yet, as grant funding shrinks and priorities shift, our local food community needs your support now more than ever.

Throughout the month of March, we are organizing the Sustainable Business Network's first Spring Fundraising Campaign in hopes of raising $5,000 to launch a Technical Assistance Pilot Program. The goal of the campaign is to connect with local consultants across various fields to create a dynamic and accessible program that supports small food businesses at every stage. Every entrepreneur encounters challenges, and having the right expert at the right time can unlock new opportunities for growth and success. Unlike larger companies, small businesses may not always have the resources to navigate these hurdles alone. Designed to provide tailored guidance and expertise, this initiative will help local food businesses thrive, innovate, and reach their full potential. As we launch this exciting new resource, we invite you to join us in making it a reality! It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Other ways to get involved

We have so many ways for you to get involved—volunteer, share your expertise, spread the word, or donate. Whatever you do, know that your support is helping to build a stronger, more resilient local food system.
